Faculty of the State Bar of Michigan's Summer Conference for the Real Property Law Section - July 10th to the 13th, 2019
The conference will focus on changing laws that affect both new and existing projects and discussions on current legal issues that impact real property law in the State of Michigan. Thursday, the conference will begin with an expert panel discussion of public-private partnerships (sometimes referred to as “P3”). Thursday’s and Friday’s workshops will address marijuana and real estate, short-term rentals, online auctions, shopping center debt considerations, workouts and foreclosures, and technology. There will be an update on recent Michigan legislation and court opinions. The program will also include twelve interactive roundtable discussions on a variety of topics such as subleasing, amendments to the marketable title act, opportunity zones, liquor licensing, and 1031 exchanges.
